So at work I am actually still up for the position. I've done one interview and two presentations. A scheduled meeting for feedback is apparently different in their department than mine.

The real reason I'm here, though, is to toss out a Christmas gift. Comment and I'll write you a fic. Please pick a fandom I know. You can feel free to pick characters, ships, scenarios you want, and I'll do what I can when I can. It's my Christmas gift to you, flist, even though it may be a little late. I'll stick a list of fandoms I could probably write, but you're welcome to ask for something else and see if I can manage it.

Fandoms I follow: )

In other news, I need to get back to baking. I've made over 500 cookies so far, and I'm not done. Viva la Cookiepalooza 2011.

Drabble for [livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel for the previous meme. It got long and, well, not so much on point, but I sort of like it. I wrote it long hand during breaks and lunches at work.

Until Tomorrow Night )

My Kindle arrived yesterday. With the help of a friend at work I decided to name him Lucien Nepenthe. Lucien being, of course, the librarian of the Library of Dreams from Sandman and Nepenthe means "one that chases away sorrow." It seemed perfect to me, especially with the two put together. I have already found and formatted quite a number of real books for it, but I sort of want to put fanfiction on it. We're talking older fanfiction that probably isn't on Fanfic.net. I've seen some programs on the internet that are supposed to help automatically configure stories on Fanfic.net to work with ebook readers, but I haven't seen anything yet for independent sites. Other than going through and saving them all individually as PDFs does anyone know a better way?

I can already tell that uploading all my fics to AO3 is going to take forever and ever and ever because there are so many. There are all the ones on the fanfic webpage. And then there are all the ones scattered around LJ that I forgot about. Oy va. The good news is that maybe having to reread these while I format them correctly will get me writing something again.

Mac! I found the Scorp/Al Sev stuff. Hee.

ETA: ZOMG! Alara is on AO3. Yay! It's almost like OTL is coming alive again!

A long time ago [livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel requested a drabble from me that was either supposed to be Burnout from Gen 13 or Chase. Chase is easier for me to write.

So here it is. Belatedly.

What I Got )

I'm writing one of the requested first kiss drabbles long hand. It's slow as I have to write sentences and even just words between calls, but I'm writing. And that dissipates enough of the top layer of misery that I can manage to not feel so bad.

ETA: At this rate, I'm going to run out of paper and be stuck with a full-fledged fanfic on my hands.

ETA2: I've run out of paper, and it's not done yet. *sigh*

I am writing fic again. It's HP fic. Blame [livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel. The only thing is I'm not sure whether I should be posting it, though, because it's actually pretty spoiler-tastic for Deathly Hallows. Perhaps I should just cut tag them all.

Hmmm....

Opinions?

It's Saturday, the end of my work week. I haven't made any plans for this weekend, though I imagine I should call my father, perhaps see if he wants to grab dinner/lunch if he's going to be down in my area for his classes come Monday.

Other than that, there's cleaning to do, helping the upstairs neighbors move and some writing I want to get done. There's RP stuff I desperately need to do because I feel so bad making people wait, but I simply cannot get my creative mojo going long enough during my work week to get much of anything done.

In other news, here's a bit of a pimp: X Project for collaborative fanfiction/impromptu Marvelverse writing. I've joined. Come check us out. It's just getting started, but it sounds like something that could really be awesome, especially as the grand majority of the Marvel fandom seems to have moved from fanfic to RPing, at least what I've seen. When I was in high school, fanfic was jumping. I was an active member of the Outside the Lines (and still belong to it even if I don't really post to it much anymore) mailing list for years. It was the place for fanfic, and I am so glad I got to be mentored and nurtured there by writers whose skill greatly exceeded mine but were more than willing to give me a read, a hand, an ear, a suggestion. A chance.

If not for OTL, I doubt I'd be either writing fanfic or RPing today.

I should not, should not, should not be considering picking up my ST:V fics again.

Only I am.

...I may need an intervention.

I have so many people on my buddy lists it's not even funny. Most of them are from one of the five RPGs I play at, but I can still only tell you who about half of them are. Bad me.

In other news, I'm finally feeling human again. Took long enough.

But rather than doing the things I should be doing (like posting or, y'know, working *gasp*) I'm just sitting around staring at all the new LJ icons I've uploaded and trolling for more good Gert/Chase fanfic because I am such a tool like that.

And, well, trying not to worry about friends for various reasons. Love and hope goes out to you, you know who you are.

I'm coming to work tomorrow. For at least part of the day. I don't want to, but I should with Dale gone and everything. *le sigh* Sometimes I hate being the responsible one.
