I've got something of an oral fixation. Especially where fruit is concerned. I go, "Oooooh, fruit." and eat it. This is why Bing cherries can expect a life span of maybe two days upon entering my house.

Due to me going, "Mmmmm, fruit tree" at a tree near the grocery store Dad goes, "That's a mulberry. We've got one at home. In the front yard." As is obvious, I haven't been to the front yard recently. We get home, I put the groceries away and then proceed to the front yard thinking, "Mmmmmm. Fruit tree." Get to tree and start searching it for edible berries. Green, green, green, somewhat dark. Pluck, eat, yuck, spit. Repeat this several times. Then I walk back to the back yard and tell Dad that the berries are not ripe yet. Dad's response is to suggest that I make sure mulberries are safe to eat before eating them.

Which is why I'm online making sure I don't need to go back to the ER and be all, "Ugh. Fruit tree. Stomach pump."

Looks like they're safe. I just need to wait until they're ripe.

Definitely safe. Which you know, now, but anyway I just thought I'd mention it for sure. We used to have a huge one in our back yard that carpeted the yard with dark purple berries every year, but it finally died two years ago, or so. (It has been seen making valiant attempts at ressurection, but my dad keeps digging it back up again). I miss it, and the berries. Hopefully the tree in the front (originally a seedling of the one in the back) will produce edible berries this season. *crosses fingers.*
