There is some music I cannot listen to because it honestly makes me a little insane. Modest Mouse was one of these. Something about the music, the notes and the instruments just made my brain rebel. It doesn't happen often.
I have managed to stumble onto another one, though. This is a band called The Fiery Furnaces and the album is named Blueberry Boat.
I got, maybe, three songs in and had to turn it off. I couldn't even finish any of the three songs, either. It's...I don't even have a name for it. It's like someone combined the boat ride from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory with Bo Hanson's Lord of the Rings (an album my father owned that I once listened to while trying to go to sleep and ended up having nightmares) along with a dash of Jetro Tull's Aqualung.
Needless to say, The Fiery Furnaces have not won a fan. This is one of the few CDs that has to leave my house.
I paid $7 for it. I'm willing to ship it to anyone in the US (international postage is too much) for free if you want it. Please comment and we'll arrange the shipping details via email.
