Oh, yes, precious. The story isn't done but word count was reached. And since I wrote over 8,400 words today and my brain is verging on mush, I'm going to go take a break.

Took today off from work so I could finish the NaNo. Last year I was done early. This year? I need to write about 7,000 more words to finish. Real life has been hectic this year for sure. I can do this, though. I will succeed.

2364 / 50000 words. 5% done!

Tomorrow starts the weekend. There are chores I have to do tomorrow, but then I am throwing myself at the book. Even though it's going slowly and stupidly.

It's almost November. November means NaNo. That means that I'll be even more AWOL than normal. Except for the constant spamming of current word count. You have been warned.

I have to work on Halloween so I'm using today as my horror movie marathon day. Score!

Went ahead and validated it so I've got this little pretty to show off:

The novel isn't done yet, but it hit the 50,000 word mark. I need to keep going with it to finish it, though. Just not at such a hurried pace because, well, the holiday train isn't stopping.

Let's talk NaNo.

Bam!

That's how I roll.

I feel very pleased with myself. This is the most writing that I've done in a very long time, and it feels great. The characters are easy to write, and they keep taking me places I didn't expect. When this thing is over, the work I have is going to be disjointed and need editing and probably more added to it because they keep changing some things up on me as I find out more about them. However I think there could actually be something really great under all this slop.

My head feels like it's in a vise due to this stupid cold.

However, I have written 17,062 words for my NaNo project and am almost done with the third chapter so that's not too shabby. Seeing as how I met my personal goal of writing over 5,000 words in one day, I am now going to make some tea, take some more cold medicine and veg out on my couch until the aforementioned cold medicine makes me drowsy and I go to sleep.

I have a concert tomorrow night so I doubt I'll get as much writing done, but the good news is that almost all my other chores are completed so I can spend the hours before the concert working some more on the novel. My goal for tomorrow is to get chapter three done and then get about halfway into chapter four.

And two chapters done.

On the downside, I am feeling a little feverish and my throat hurts. I've started dosing myself with OTC cold medicine. The good news is that other than a concert on Saturday, my only weekend plans were staying home and writing anyway.

I have started NaNo and already have almost 3,000 words down. It's difficult because during my work week I can really only work on it after work for about an hour or so before I need to go to bed. So I went ahead and copied the thing into Google Docs so I can write a little bit while on lunches and breaks. My major pushes will undoubtedly occur on my off days, but every little bit help. Of course I think it's awful. Total and utter smeg. It's a little disorganized and all over the place and just rambly. I am not editing until at least December. And I will not delete it and start again. I am going to see the course through awful or not. When it's over and done with I can scrap the bad parts or refine them and keep the good. Until then this is more about me writing at all than about me writing something good. I am okay with that, and I'm enjoying it for the most part. Although I do sort of sit at work all day and just want to go home so I can write. That's probably a good thing for the novel and a bad thing for my job.
