Mondays are hell. Whomever invented the concept of the Monday needs to die. I have been at work for forty minutes, tops, and I already have a pretty substantial headache. Not to mention the fact that I was bombarded with at least three people going, "I need you to do this now" not even two minutes after I had walked in the door.
Then there's the whole "high speed internet" letter my boss sent out to all of our customers. Now this isn't a bad idea. In fact, it's something of a bloody good idea that the git should have implemented earlier. However, his timing is fucked.
Here's why:
For the past three weeks or so we haven't been running at full wireless install capacity because Craig bought another internet company in Seymour and has been putting in at least two or three days out of a week for switching out their equipment. I schedule wireless installs around these. Sometimes, however, I cannot seeing as how I am sometimes not given enough notice because I refuse to call people the night before in order to set something up for the night day. Due to this, the wireless install backlogs are upwards of 45-50 people.
Then there are the people in Seymour calling wanting the wireless.
And now there are the letters, which have served to skyrocket the number of Preliminary Surveys (meaning I need to make the topo maps) up to about 60. Granted that a lot of those have already been done and are waiting in their for other towers to come online but still. With that kind of backlog, this was the wrong time to send out those letters. Especially due to the fact that making people wait more then two weeks seems to result in them losing interest. And, let me tell you, the wait is about two to three weeks at present.
We have too much shit going on to throw another wrench in the machine and expect it to work.
ETA: Oh, yeah, I forgot the part where one of our wireless installers took his vacation this week. Y'know, one of the whole two that we have. I've been here for two years, and I've yet to take one of my vacation weeks. Mostly because I'm afraid of the trainwreck that would be waiting for me upon my return.
I'm about to the point of saying, "Fuck it" and just turning in my two weeks, getting an apartment (I have funds to do it, barely) and then looking for a job that way because, honestly, Sara can't take much more. Sara is on the verge of mental and emotional meltdown. Sara didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Sara is spiraling into a void of depression that makes her not want to move, which is why she's been slow lately. Sara needs to stop talking about herself in the thrid person before somebody calls the men with the white coats.
