I promised [livejournal.com profile] tsylyst a link with some information about the apartment complex that [livejournal.com profile] timberwolfblues and I are moving into at the beginning of October. Plaza Apartments in New Albany, Indiana. We're going to be renting one of the model 2A two bedroom apartments for $575 a month.

Not that I don't trust you guys to be able to click on links yourself, but [livejournal.com profile] tsylyst might yell at me if I don't make site navigation as easy as possible. (&hearts [livejournal.com profile] tsylyst)

Here's more information about that apartment.

This will let you click through pictures of a furnished apartment in the style that we're going to be renting. The dining and the living rooms are technically just one big room so I don't know why they broke them up into two categories. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet that goes into the bathroom, which is much bigger than depicted. The whole place is 1000 square feet, which is the size of the main floor of my house. (That information will really only be useful to [livejournal.com profile] kcauac, [livejournal.com profile] chickwithmonkey and [livejournal.com profile] norachan as the rest of you have not been inside my house.) The kitchen is bigger than it looks as well, though they've done the show one a disservice by putting a table in it, something I would not do because it makes it look smaller and, really, when the dining room area is just a step out of the kitchen it doesn't make much sense.

That's a link to some pictures of the complex itself. It's nice and quiet and very close to things despite the fact that it's situated far enough back to be sort of remote and difficult to find. I've been in and around New Albany for a good part of my life, and Monday was the first time I had ever even seen this apartment complex.

There's a Kroger within walking distance. I can get to malls and shops and restaurants in Clarksville or New Albany in about ten minutes. I can get to Louisville in about fifteen. I am centrally located, and it's a good neighborhood. Here's a map of the area for you guys. The star is the apartment complex and the rest of the cities are pretty well labeled.

I'm so glad you're getting out of your dad's house and into some place nice. It looks good.

I'm thinking about a place in Clarksville.... Or near Iraquois park in Louisville. I'm drawn to the nicer apartments in Indiana, but my classes would all be at the SouthWestern Campus of JCTC....

I've found that apartments in Indiana seem to be cheaper, but I'm not sure whether the cost for gas would outweight the cost of living. I also know Indiana better, which is why I didn't really look in Louisville at all.

There are some nice places in Clarksville and New Albany that I'd be willing to point you at if you were interested. Of course, the prospect of having you close enough to kidnap you for fun is a bias. ;)

The river isn't THAT big. And I'm fully willing and capable of abetting my kidnappings. I have my current lease until February, and I should know more about where I'll be working by then.

Hee. Poke.

I don't mean to alarm you, but there appears to be some sort of vine growing all over the inside of that apartment. It's in the dining room and the bathroom... I mean I guess that'd be good for an earthy feel. But it can't be good for the walls.

:) It looks nice. Reminds me of my aunt's apartment, except bigger. And not as filled with elephants.

Don't worry. The vine shall die.

Oh, there are elephants if I wanted them. [livejournal.com profile] timberwolfblues' mother used to collect them. Most of them have been scattered to relatives.

As soon as we have a couch, go for it. Or you can live in the NOC with the computers.

I'd say we could likely arrange some kinda party.

How much notice do you think people need?

Isn't it lovely? It was one of the main things I liked so much about that complex. I was all, "This kitchen is the bomb."
