dreamcatchings: (rock star)
I've been waiting patiently for Tonic to decide to get off their hiatus, regroup and make a new album for more years than I particularily want to count. Despite all evidence to the contrary, my hopes stayed high that this phenomenal band (whose lead singer would sing in Gaelic) would produce something again.

Then Amazon started trying to push Emerson Hart on me. I couldn't figure out why. I mean, yes, Amazon tries to push a lot of stuff on me bot good and bad but, other than a vague resemblance to Liam Gallagher, I couldn't figure out why this Hart fellow should matter to me. So I didn't even bother with a proper listen and just moved along.

Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] timberwolfblues and I went to Barnes and Noble. (I love B&N for many things but one of the tops is the ability to sample any CD in their store. Bestbuy could go a long way toward getting more of my money if they did something similar in the store nearest me.) I'm browsing the new releases and spot, yet again, Mr. Hart. I grab the CD and scan it into the listening station.

The voice is immediately setting off alarms in my head, but I've not figured it out yet. I'm standing there trying to recall who he reminds me of (other than Oasis) and then started reading the info on the album that the listening station brings up. (Hands of the people who can see where this is going or already know who Emerson Hart is.)

Emerson Hart was the lead vocalist/songwriter for Tonic. The band I've been yearning for a new album from for ages. Yay!

And, oh, off subject but Matchbox 20 has a new album rolling out October 2nd. And The Weakerthans have a new on that's hitting September 25th.
